Cystoscopy
Cystoscopy is an endoscopic procedure that uses a thin, lighted instrument to examine the urethra and bladder.
Surgical Goals
Evaluation of hematuria, urinary frequency, or voiding difficulty
Detection of bladder tumors, stones, or inflammation
Removal of small tumors or stones
Placement or replacement of ureteral stents (Double-J stent)

Mild burning or blood in the urine after the procedure (common) Urinary tract infection or cystitis Urinary retention or voiding difficulty Urethral injury or bladder perforation (very rare)

03Postoperative Care Instructions
Drink plenty of fluids (at least 2000 cc/day) to flush the bladder Mild hematuria may occur and should improve within 1–3 days Seek medical help if you experience fever, persistent hematuria, worsening pain, or inability to urinate Take antibiotics or painkillers as prescribed
